Join resident performing artist/award-winning composer Tidtaya Sinutoke for an engaging workshop/seminar exploring the creative process of writing musicals. Designed for artists and enthusiasts alike, this session delves into the unique perspective of being an Asian composer in musical theatre.
Participants will gain insights into:
- The artistic landscape of contemporary musical theatre.
- Strategies for composing and storytelling within the medium.
- The challenges and opportunities of creating musicals that reflect diverse experiences.
No artistic skills or prior experience are required—this workshop is open to all!

Tidtaya Sinutoke (ฑิตยา สินุธก) is a Jonathan Larson Grant, Billie Burke Ziegfeld Award, Jerome Hill Artist Fellowship, McKnight Composer Residency and Fred Ebb Award-winning theatre composer and writer. Current composition and writing credits: HALF THE SKY (The 5th Avenue Theatre’s First Draft Commission & 20/21 Digital Season); SUNWATCHER (The Civilians R&D Group); DEAR MR. C (Diverse Voices Playwriting Initiative Award); THE ADVENTURES OF SKY AND FRIENDS (New Victory Theater’s LabWorks); KHAM – Crossing (Dramatic Questions Theatre) and LITTLE DUGONG AND HER SEAGRASS SONG (American Opera Project).
