• Magical Moon Art – Cultural Programs Center (CPC)
  The full harvest moon symbolizes family reunion and coming together. Learn about the phases of the moon and then create your own craterous moon artwork, taking inspiration from the year’s brightest moon. At the end of the night, hang your moon by the door and make a secret wish for Chang’E to grant.
• Spectacular Shadow Stories – Cultural Programs Center (CPC)
  Construct and decorate shadow puppets of Moon Goddess Chang’E, archer Hou Yi, or the Jade Rabbit using colorful vellum. When you finish your creation, head to MOCA’s shadow puppet theater to stage an original performance!
• Magnificent Mooncakes – Cultural Programs Center (CPC)
  Mooncakes come in countless shapes, sizes, & patterns. Imagine and etch your own personalized mooncake design onto a colorful scratch art board.

• New York Chinese Cultural Center Martial Arts Workshop, 2:30 PM | 纽约 新苗文艺中心表演与课时
• Taught by a martial arts master from the New York Chinese Cultural Center, this introductory workshop will teach you how to do the “Gazing At the Moon” posture inspired by archer Hou Yi, as well as some basic stances, strikes, and other techniques.

MOCA is excited to have reopened its indoor exhibitions and to welcome you back for engaging family programs. For the health and safety of our visitors, we’ve made a few changes to our policies. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to abide by all visitor guidelines and any additional safety protocols that may be in effect upon your arrival.

Here’s what you need to know:

• MOCA Requires Proof of Vaccination
  New York City’s “Key to NYC” requirements went into effect on August 16, 2021. MOCA is requiring all patrons ages 12 and older to provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours for entry. Click here for more information.
• Vaccination requirements and venue protocols are subject to change, be sure to check back for the latest information. Our top priority is the safety of everyone who walks through our doors. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we continue to respond to ever-changing conditions.
• Wear a Mask
  All visitors two years and older must wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth during the entire length of their visit. MOCA reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who declines to wear a face mask or comply with visitor safety guidelines.
• Book your Mini Mid-Autumn Celebration tickets in advance!
  All visitors, including Museum members, must reserve a timed entry ticket prior to visiting. Festival capacity is limited. Click here to book your timed tickets to MOCA’s Mini Mid-Autumn Celebration on Saturday, September 18th now!
• Practice Physical Distancing
  Families are asked to stay 6 feet apart from one another and give each other the space they need to navigate the Museum safely and comfortably. Children must stay with adults at all times.
• To ensure proper physical distancing, there may be wait times to enter specific galleries and museum spaces.
• Coat Check is Closed
  Coat check is not open at this time. To help maximize space, we ask that you leave any large bags or bulky items at home. Strollers may be left in designated stroller parking areas.
• Cafe is Closed
  There are no food or drink offerings at the Museum at this time. Food and beverages may not be consumed while inside the Museum.
• Exposure to COVID-19
  An inherent risk of exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19) exists in any public place where people are present. People visiting the Museum of Chinese in America do so at their own risk. By visiting the Museum, you voluntarily assume all risks for yourself and minors in your custody and understand that you may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by entering the Museum.
