About Fuzhou Sisters
Born and raised in Fuzhou, Shuyu and Qixin developed a strong bond through their shared experiences and love for Fuzhou culture. Reuniting in NYC in 2023, they launched Fuzhou Sisters to continue exploring Fuzhou’s culture and connect the Fuzhou community by celebrating its rich heritage. Earlier this year, they started brewing Qinghong wine—a specialty rice wine from Fuzhou. They’ve been sharing their brewing experiences and wines to introduce this traditional craft to new audiences and bring Fuzhounese people of all ages together to celebrate their culture in a new light. They’ve been hosting Qinghong tasting events at a pop-up bookstore in Chinatown and at the Museum of Chinese in America.
