Dear Friends of MOCA,
We’re thrilled to announce the appointment of our new Board Co-Chairs, Stephen Limpe and Eric Lee. Stephen Limpe comes to MOCA with over 38 years of executive and financial leadership experience, having served as CEO in service, technology, and engineering businesses, most recently at CompassCare, a concierge home care agency he co-founded in 2014 for older adults and their families. Stephen also serves on the Executive Committee and board of trustees of Caramoor Center for the Arts in Katonah, New York. Eric Lee is a Portfolio Manager at Soros Fund Management, a private investment management firm based in New York. He joins MOCA with 25 years of experience in finance and is also the Vice Chair of Apex for Youth, a nonprofit serving Asian immigrant youth in New York City.
At the same time, we are pleased to announce our two new Board Members, Lucy Kan and James Hu. Lucy is a Philanthropist and a former Treasurer of her family’s professional IT-related services and management consulting firm. She hails from Virginia and has been a champion advocate for MOCA over the years. James Hu is a partner at the global law firm White & Case, where he advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, and an adjunct professor at Cornell Law School and Cornell Tech, where he teaches a course on mergers and acquisitions. We welcome our new Co-Chairs and Board Members and look forward to their experienced guidance for our continued growth.
We want to thank Jonathan Chu for his leadership as Co-Chair of the Board over the past five years. He played a pivotal role in securing our new permanent home and was instrumental in amplifying MOCA’s mission to better highlight the tragically overlooked history of the Chinese American diaspora. We thank him for his hard work and dedication, and today, we now have a plan in place for our new home designed by Maya Lin and Ralph Appelbaum. We’re excited to continue on our journey, increasing our programming and serving as a beacon for the community and the country.
