海外华人的经历充满迁徙、适应与文化冲突的多层次故事，也让他们在语言与身份的拉扯中寻找自己的定位。这些经历不仅丰富了个人生命，也为华语文学带来深远影响。离散文学作为华语文学的重要分支，透过移民背景中的複杂情感与文化记忆，构筑出一幅属于全球华人的文学版图。

美国华人博物馆荣幸邀请到作家同时也是中文作家协会副会长应帆，分享他的小说集《漂亮的人都来纽约了》。这部作品以纽约为舞台，见证四十多年来新移民的离散历史，细腻描绘了人物从留学到定居、从奋斗到生存的生命轨迹，展现当代移民的普世情感与文化遗绪。

正如应帆所言：「曼哈顿、和它一水之隔的泽西城和皇后区，还有皇后区的艾姆赫斯特、雷哥公园和法拉盛等社区、长岛小镇萨伊奥塞特，这些我工作和生活过的地方，试图在我的生命和文字裏留下更深刻的印记，其实是再自然不过的积纍和沉淀。我觉得关于纽约，关于情感故事，我还有更多的文字要落在纸上。」」

让我们庆祝新年到来的同时，在此次座谈中，共同探讨离散文学在华语书写中的重要地位，并展望移民故事如何成为时代记忆中不可或缺的一部分。

The experiences of overseas Chinese are rich with stories of migration, adaptation, and cultural conflict. They navigate the tensions between language and identity to find their place. These experiences not only enrich individual lives but also have a profound impact on Chinese literature. Diasporic literature, as a crucial branch of Chinese literature, builds a global literary landscape for Chinese communities through the intricate emotions and cultural memories rooted in migration.

The Museum of Chinese in America is honored to invite Author and Vice President of Association of American Chinese Writers Aiguo Ying to share his novella collection, All the Beautiful People Have Come to New York. This work uses New York as its backdrop to bear witness to over forty years of diaspora history, delicately portraying the lives of characters transitioning from studying abroad to settling down, from striving to surviving, and reflecting the universal emotions and cultural legacies of contemporary immigrants.

As Aiguo Ying remarked: “Manhattan, the nearby Jersey City, and Queens, along with neighborhoods like Elmhurst, Rego Park, and Flushing, and the Long Island town of Syosset—these are places where I’ve lived and worked. The marks they’ve left on my life and writing are naturally deep accumulations and sedimentations. I feel that I have more stories about New York and its emotional landscapes waiting to be set to paper.”

While celebrating the arrival of the New Year, let us come together in this program to explore the significance of diasporic literature in Chinese writing and reflect on how immigrant stories have become an indispensable part of our collective memory.

关于作家 ABOUT the Writer

应帆，江苏淮安人，现居纽约长岛，北美中文作家协会副会长，网刊《新语丝》编辑。

应帆的文学作品见于《青年作家》《香港文学》《世界日报》副刊等处。应帆著有中短篇小说集《漂亮的人都来纽约了》，长篇小说《有女知秋》及诗集《我终于失去了迷路的自由》等。

应帆的散文集《一个凤凰男和半个纽约客》也将于2025年面世。

Mr. Aiguo Ying was born in 1972 in Huai’an, Jiangsu and now lives in Syosset, NY with his family. He serves as the vice president of Association of American Chinese Writers (AACW) and acts as a long-time editor at the net literature magazine New Threads. Mr. Ying’s works have appeared in the Chinese periodicals like Youth Writers, Hong Kong Literature as well as in World Journal supplemental pages. He has published a collection of short stories All the Beautiful People Have Come to New York, a novel A Woman Named Zhiqiu, as well as a collection of poetry I Have Finally Lost the Freedom of Getting Lost. His new book of essays, A Phoenix Man and Half a New Yorker, is forthcoming in 2025. Mr. Ying works in the financial industry as a quantitative developer.
