The Museum of Chinese in America is proud to welcome an aspiring playwright/director Nate Cozens to present a stage reading of his new play, DEBUT.

DEBUT follows a family’s journey of self-discovery as each member comes to terms with what it means to “act their age.” Jomar’s having a full-blown identity crisis as he approaches his 30th birthday, so what does he do? He throws himself a debut, a traditional Filipino coming-of-age celebration… usually meant for young women turning 18. But things get complicated when he returns home and discovers that his family’s lives are in complete disarray. Will this party bring them together as the family wrestles with the idea of growing up or will it be what causes them to grow apart?
